Nourish & Flourish Potluck-Style Dinner

We’re thrilled to invite you to our community dinner on Wednesday, September 25th, where we’ll unveil an exciting new initiative that puts buying power back into our hands. Mark your calendars, and don’t forget to bring a dish for our potluckFREE vegetables are available at the Pine St. farm for your recipe!

potluck is a community meal where each guest brings a dish to share, creating a diverse and plentiful spread of food contributed by everyone. We’re hosting this dinner potluck-style to emphasize sharing, community, and participation, values central to Kingston Food Co-op. It’s an opportunity for everyone to contribute, showcase their cooking, and enjoy dishes made by friends and neighbors. By hosting a potluck, we celebrate cooperation and reduce costs, making the event accessible for all.

Flower Essence with Ann Marie

Flower essences are the energetic signatures of plants. They are subtle, highly diluted remedies that are  taken internally. They work with your energy field to gently shift your spiritual, emotional, mental, and  sometimes physical health toward greater well-being. 

In this workshop, we will discuss and then explore the energetics of plants through a brief meditation.  You will learn how to make flower essences at home and will create customized formulas to bring home through intuitive divination.

5th Annual Members' Meeting + Lunch

Save the date! Our upcoming 5th Annual Members' Meeting and Lunch is approaching and we need your participation.  Join us on Saturday, April 6th at 11 am at the Pine Street African Burial Ground (157 Pine Street in Kingston, NY). We'll be enjoying lunch by Tilda's Kitchen.

The Annual Meeting is an essential event to attend as a member and co-owner of your co-op. It provides a platform for all members to actively participate in the planning and decision-making of our cooperative. 

Here's what to expect at our 5th Annual Members' Meeting

Welcome and Opening Remarks

  • A brief welcome to all attendees and an overview of the meeting's purpose. Members help themselves to coffee, tea, and lunch. 

Annual Report Recap

  • Highlights from the past year and introductions to any new team members.

Old Location Conversation

  • Discussion on the departure from the old location, including reasons and lessons learned.

JQ's Presentation

  • Insight from JQ, a co-op developer, on the dynamics of co-ops moving locations.

New Location Conversation

  • Initiatives for finding a new location, emphasizing member involvement and outlining steps forward.

Focus Groups Discussion

  • Introduction to three focus groups:

    • Location and Design Solutions Group

    • Financial Sustainability Group

    • Community Engagement and Buying Club Group

Open Forum

  • An opportunity for members to share thoughts, concerns, and suggestions on any topic.

Focus Groups Sign-Ups

  • Members choose focus groups to join, aiding in the co-op's development and future planning.

If you are not a member of the Kingston Food Co-op yet, now’s a great time to join! Our members get first access to our Nourishment Boxes. However, if you’re not a co-op member, you can still order yours! For community members - preorder your Nourishment Box from Saturday, November 11th to Tuesday, November 14th (9:00 PM EST deadline).

All boxes must be picked up on Friday, November 17th from 4-7 PM at the Ulster County Restorative Justice Center (733 Broadway).

Our next community gardening day will be on Thursday, July 13th from 5-6:30 pm at South Pine Street City Farm (27 South Pine St., Kingston, NY). 

Join us to get your hands in the soil, help steward the garden, and have fun with community members. 

We'll bring snacks and water, you bring gloves and anything else you might need to be more comfortable, including sunscreen, shades, or a hat and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. See you there!
