SOLIDARITY fund
We offer Solidarity Memberships at Kingston Food Co-op for $0 or $15, ensuring accessibility for all, including those identifying as low-income, Black, Indigenous, or Latinx. These memberships aim to foster inclusivity and representation within our community.
Our values prioritize improved food access in Kingston, addressing affordability, quality, and choice. We're committed to combating systemic racism and oppression, recognizing historical injustices faced by people of color and folks who identify as low income. By offering Solidarity Memberships, we strive to break down economic barriers and challenge oppressive systems in our food system.
We acknowledge the diverse incomes and privileges within the Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and person of color communities. Full-price memberships are available for those who choose to purchase them. Regardless of payment, all members enjoy the same rights, benefits, and responsibilities, including access to Solidarity Memberships for life.
Support for Solidarity Memberships comes from the Solidarity Fund, fueled by grants and donations from community members. We encourage contributions to strengthen our connected community at Kingston Food Co-op. Thank you for your contributions!
Because we are a cooperative corporation, not a non-profit, contributions to the Solidarity Share Fund are not tax deductible.
